[XGN026] Enicma - Enicma
Exegene is back in business with a brilliant release from Enicma. Known for his superb 'Deep Drums' radio shows on Leet Radio and Jungletrain, he now turns to production, and he definitely doesn't disappoint. The A-side 'Hypothermia', kicks off the release with some rolling drums, a spaced out piano melody and subtle string pads. A massive growling synth bassline breaks out after the short drop. Tight breaks flow along monster bassline making this track definitely one to play out in a late night...

[XGN025] Process vs Beatokko
We kick off the new year with two awesomely fresh tracks. The A side 'Speak' from Ohm Resistance's Process and Beatokko makes his return on Exegene with 'Needlebreaker' on the flip. Process makes his Exegene debut with 'Speak', an immensely funky number. Melodic bleeps and perfected fx ride along a flowing stream of funk made from deep 'talking' basses, crisp rolling breaks and smooth synth slices...

[xgn031] Beckett - Beckett
Taking time out from his day job of abusing support techies and running IrishDrumAndBass.com, the one they call Beckett drops a pair of chill tracks to bring us (belatedly) into 2007 and a new year of regular Exegene releases. And if they're all on the level of this one, we won't have any complaints. If thumping non-stop Amens or circus basslines are your thing, look away now. Beckett brings a far more professional edge to his tunes, with orchestral musings and soulful vocals cutting through on ...

[xgn029] Morphy - Morphy
A switch in sounds for Exegene with two dub ridden beauts from Morphy, long time shark lover, dub juice consumer, and resident of Scotland's big LiveVEvil dnb night. His fine tuned style of dubby basslines, addictive hooks and upfront breaks have got him releases on labels such as Direct Recordings and Urban Takeover, and now Exegene. 'Echo Chamber' kicks off the release with tape delayed bleeps and stabs...

[xgn032] RMF - RMF
Austria is a country with a rich musical heritage. Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and the Strauss family all called it home at some point. It is not, however, widely known for its Drum'n'bass heritage. RMF is on a mission to change that. With a 12" already under his belt thanks to 13music, and releases forthcoming with Plainaudio and Syncopathic, we're very lucky to have him here on Exegene. A-side Rhodesia skilfully edits its way through 6 minutes of the finest jazz stylings, with some rude flute ...

[xgn027] NSF Crew vs Snaper - NSF Crew + Snaper
Two dark brooding tracks this time. One from the German production team, Neurotic Sound Foundation Crew, who have tunes lined up on numerous labels like Synaptic Plastic. The other from Hungary's Snaper with his fresh outlook on breakcore and minimal psychotica. NSF Crew's 'Mechanisms (Remix)' kicks this release off a dark rolling drumfunk number. Tight breaks and crashing cymbals ride along a dirty, funky bassline...

[xgn030] Ricky Force - The Aerial EP - Ricky Force
Irish massive in full effect for this one. Dublin resident Ricky Force, steps up with 4 extremely hefty slices of pure junglism. From the get go, the Amens are flying. '4 Now' starts off with a tight knit Amen whilst some deep pounding bass kicks along underneath. Stutter vocals and drum slices weave in an out amongst drifting, floaty strings. 'Make Ya Move' switches to the Apache break. Fat basses bust in with a bleepy synth melody...

[xgn028] Martsman - Martsman
Martsman returns on Exegene with two tight crunchy slabs of robot breaks. Since his debut release for Exegene, he's been showing his glitchy expertise on labels such as Offshore and Plain Audio which have been greatly recieved. With more release on Breakin', Counter Intelligence and more on Offshore it's time we got him back for another round of distorted xeroxfunk for Exegene. 'Roads', which has been recently remixed by Sileni for Exegene (and is featured on the CD with Knowledge #66) starts of...
